I am all moved into my temporary home for the next month in Cordoba, Argentina. I have a roommate, Makayla. Makayla doesn't speak much Spanish; but we get along great and that's what really matters.
I had orientation on Sunday (what a long day!). We were able to tour the city with a guide. Some of the architecture here is just incredible! After the tour, Gabi, Gabi's friend, Makayla and I went to a local bar/cafe to watch the game. HOLY COW THE STREETS WERE CRAZY for the game! People were everywhere all dressed up and with blow horns. It was so upsetting when Argentina lost. I saw tears in just about everyone's eyes. But Argentina didn't let the lost stand in the way of a good party. Car horns were going off all night from people in the streets. On Monday we had placement exams - another long day! After exams a group of students walked down to "el centro", the main shopping plaza in Cordoba. Everyone may say it's close by - but it is NOT close. It took about 30 minutes to walk there. Overall, it was a good day!
On my first day of class, Tuesday, I found out I received an internship (a modified internship since I'm only here for a month). I will be working as an assistant to an accountant. The accountant has his own practice and needs some extra help. Today was my first day of my internship. I was so nervous. My boss spoke super fast. I could only understand about every three words. I was worried I was going to fill out a form wrong and mess up his whole operation! After the internship, I rushed to campus for my class. Ale, the residents director, said that my boss loved me and I was fast worker! *Phew!* What a relief! I was worried I was going to be fired after one day. As far as my class goes, Espanol Comercial (Business Spanish), it is starting off well. I really enjoy my professor. He is easy to understand and is very energetic when he teaches. Anyways, I should probably be working on my homework!
¡Chao!
