I attended my first asado last Wednesday. For everyone who does not know what an asado is, it is the Argentinian equivalent of a BBQ. My speaking partner, Javier, invited me to his apartment with his friends to experience an authentic Argentinian asado. When I got there, they asked me if I was hungry. It was 10 o'clock and I hadn't eaten dinner yet; of course I was hungry! Then they laughed and said okay food will be ready in two hours. I thought they were joking since I was an American not fully use to these late dinners. Welp, they were not joking. The asado is a slow process! Despite the slow process, it was worth it! The meat was delicious and the company was great. The only meat I didn't enjoy was the blood sausage... but I tried it at least! I was able to practice my Spanish with native speakers my own age. One of them was harder to understand, but it was good practice!
